Paul has already, in the first two chapters, told us what a pastor does. He has indicated what a pastor is. He has discussed what a pastor says. But now in chapter 3 Paul tells us what a pastor feels. In other words, what a pastor does and what he says and what he is is the product of what he feels. We are gazing deeply into the heart of a man who must give an account to God for how he shepherds the sheep.
